Second housewarming was done and no more. I am broke and tired of becoming a host.
Fiuhhh....

Here is the dessert I made. I was so lazy to cook main as usual so I ordered pizza for everyone.
Cos I still have some wonton skin leftover, I made them all to beef taco again.
Anyway, dessert is hazelnut chocolate cheesecake. I used nutella for the hazelnut and oreo for the base.
I practically ate half of it and I couldn't finish it. Even my colleagues weren't surprised anymore, one of them said to another straight away 'You know her. She doesn't like sweet. She baked sweet stuff but doesn't eat it. Weirdo!'

Hahahhaa... I can't help but laughing. It's true but it's me. Or maybe because I have already made it, I have enough of it ;p

Recipe is from here.
It's pretty easy and simple and it is yummy.
Even I didn't finish mine, but I tasted it right?
And my colleagues had 2 each while another friend of mine came the day after and he ate 4. Yes, FOUR! Lol!

Last but not least, guess what they gave me as a gift? A coffee machine!!
Thank you. I am a happy girl.
But, I definitely need a bigger kitchen!!!!
Time for recipe post. Finally.... after a while :)
I am happy to be back, cooking and baking.

I made this when I did my housewarming 2 weeks ago.
Some of them are old recipes but never fail people's tongues.

Here is the picture taken from one of my friends as I completely forgot about taking pics. Yes, I was so busy that day!

First pic in the top left corner is the wonton beef taco, but this time I nailed it. I put more cheese and salsa sauce for more flavour, also topped with a bit of sour cream when serving it.
Recipe is still the same, 500gr mince beef, mozzarella cheese, chunky salsa sauce, taco seasoning, and wonton skin. It's all gone in 10 minutes. Love it!

The second pic is the one next to it, it's roasted asparagus and prosciutto. I got the recipe from Seasons and Suppers.
The pic below is the raw version before I roasted it.
It's served it with a slice of bread and with a cheese sauce supposedly.
But as usual, trouble always comes at the wrong time, my sauce is not thickened and my guess is I used wrong type of cheese so it didn't blend with the other ingredients.

It should look like the pic below:
pic taken from Seasons & Suppers
Third, the bottom right corner is my Oreo Cheesecake Cupcake. Yum!
You can find the recipe from my previous post.

The last picture, I did not cook that one. hehehe..
I bought it from a Malaysian restaurant as I did not have time to cook main course for 11 people ;p
It is sizzling tofu with mince chicken and it is super super super yummy!!!!!

Anw, I will have another housewarming this Saturday for my ex-colleagues so there will be more recipes here. Yeay!
Ciao!
Been eating like crazy since the first day...
Guess I seriously need to be back on my diet as soon as I come back to Melbourne.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures and til the next post :)

I love Emirates

Been in Melbourne for the past 6 years is something.
It changed my style, my life and my kind of food.

Been here for 6 years, I can now eat mushroom and yoghurt. Ohh... also more vegetables, cheese and chili. Huahhhh...! I am proud of myself.

So at this time at night, I can't believe my stomach is making a sound.
Thinking to eat cassava chips but decided to be a good girl tonight, starting to eat healthy snack.
Opened my fridge and lucky I saw small boxes of yoghurt. This is the 1st time I bought proper yoghurt in my life.

And I actually like it.... hmmm, maybe people do change huh? Good on me.

I am back to the kitchen.
Have been away for so long cos I am too lazy to cook if it's only for me.
Hence, I decided to make something for my sister instead so at least I know someone will eat it.

I made this mac and cheese as this is one of her favorites while I personally don't like it.
I still prefer carbonara for my taste.
Ohhh... and in fact my bf likes it as well and asked me to make one for him when he is coming (soon), so I should practice first, shouldn't I?

I used the recipe from here.
They give you the tips and the videos as well which is very helpful.
But still, when I cooked it yesterday, it wasn't as simple as I thought.

I made only half recipe and it can feed 3 people already.
Thanks God it turned out not too bad so I also gave some to my friend who live across my apartment.
And Thanks God my sister likes it, even she only said 'OK' not like 'Yummy'. LOL!

All gone by evening, even the pic does not look attempting. Yeay!
Must be better for the next round.
Enjoy!

Novi said, "People said you don't marry the person you can live with but marry the person you can't live without. And for me it's him, Ogi."

Happy wedding to Ogi and Novi!
It was a pleasure for me to attend your wedding and to witness this lifetime event.
Such an intimate, warm and tearful wedding.
Love the ambiance, the place, the food, the ceremony, the reception and everything...

Our wishes and prayers are with you :)

I... actually we, have been enjoying our time together since Friday noon.
Yes, he is coming to Solo to visit me. Yeay!
Spent quality time, ate good food at good places in a good time.

Not to forget, his favorite snack... that's what he said ;p
So, as a good girlfriend or trying to be a good gf, I made it for him... the American Rissoles.

Preparation :)
Cover/Outside:
100 gr flour
3 eggs
1 tsp salt
250 ml milk (I use low fat)
1 tbsp margarine/butter, melted

Filling:
4 slices Smoked beef, cut into small pieces
100 gr cheese, slices into small pieces
4 boiled eggs
Mayonaise
250 gr bread crumbs
1 egg, whisked
1/2 lt oil

Cara Membuat Kulit Risoles (Outside):
1. Put flour into a bowl, add salt and mix well. Make a small hole in the center, add egg and stir in one direction until it's mixed well.
2. Add milk little by little until the dough is smooth and silky.
3. Add margarine/butter, mix well.
4. Close the batter with plastic and leave it for 30 minutes.
5. Use non stick pan and small heat.
6. Pour 1 big spoon of the batter and spread it evenly. Wait for about 2 - 3 minutes or until it's cooked. Do it until the batter is finished.

Cara Membuat Isi American Risoles Smoke Beef Mayonaise (Filling) :
1. Take 1 slice of the cooked batter, fill with smoked beef, egg cut, cheese and mayonaise. Fold it like folding an envelope. Do it the same for the rest.
2. Put the rissoles to the whisked egg, roll it into the bread crumbs.
3. Save in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
4. Fry by using medium heat until it turns brown.
5. Serve with mayo or chilli.

It turns out so easy and so yummy.
It will be more yummy if you put a lot of filling :)
The most important part is when looking at his happy face while eating it.

PS: literally forgot to take pictures when I fried some on Friday. Will take a pic later when I fry some more.
New season has come.
It's time for MasterChef Professional.

It's just week 1 but I feel the spirit is here.
I personally have not been cooking properly or even baking lately.
But watching the videos, looking at the pictures and reading the recipes from MasterChef is just.... unbearable.

I wish I have their pantry in my apartment, I will surely cook and try their recipes one by one every day.
Ahhh.. I wish!

Slow cooked beef in stout

Aromatic Golden Duck Broth Duck and Ginger dumplings with Otway Forest Shiitake mushrooms

Yabby tails Champagne butter and Yarra Valley Salmon roe
Quail two ways golden beets and pumpkin seed jus gras

Been in Jakarta for the past 10 days, spending my Xmas and NY there.
It was so lovely and memorable, thanks to someone and not to forget big kiss for my best friend :)

Jakarta is actually not bad after all. Maybe because I come at the right time, when a lot of people go overseas and out of town. The traffic is still there, of course. It's not called Jakarta if there is no traffic, but my friends told me that I was lucky enough the traffic was not as bad as usual. hahaha... and I was like 'what? okay' while I recalled that I was swearing a lot (in my head) on my 1st and 2nd day as I kept thinking the traffic was crazy and the rain did not stop.

2nd thing is probably because most of my friends stay in Jakarta now. It feels... I'm back alive. Time passed quickly, the city itself is crowded and live, I feel my life's rotation goes fast, a lot of things to do, shops open early and close late, and the night life does exists.

Well every city surely has pro and contra. The safety, the comfort and the beauty? Jakarta is nothing compared to Melbourne.

Anyway, in conclusion, I do enjoy my time in Jakarta... and I would love to come back to this city again (though the airport so sucks).

Now enjoy the pics.
